Two years ago, I took on the challenge of Mount Rainier, the most glaciated mountain in the lower 48 states. I always wanted to climb that mountain, and my dream was about to be realized. Since not everyone is fortunate enough to achieve their dreams, I decided that I would climb this for charity, thus my Summit For Someone journey began. I feverishly began to raise money for underprivileged teens in order to help them realize a dream as well as realizing my dream.

The weather and conditions during our two day ascent couldn’t have been more perfect. The skies were azure blue, and the temps were comfortable. We reached the crater rim at around 5am, just before sunrise. We took a final half hour break, then as the sun came up, we began to cross the crater and ascend the remaining few feet to Columbia Crest, the true summit of Rainier.
