Adventure Music

Adventure Music can help amp you up!

For me, music is a driving force behind most aspects of my life, from my creative motivation, to pretty much anything I do, it provides the energy I need to keep moving. When it comes to adventure and travel, I find that coupling the perfect adventure music with those activities really creates a pseudo-cinematic experience for me.

Whether I am snowboarding, climbing a mountain, or taking photos of a beautiful landscape, I feel that having the perfect adventure music in my ears is important to shifting my perspective. I have thrown a quick list together of ten perfect(n my opinion) examples of adventure music that have at some point influenced me to travel more, or brought some sense of adventure to my mind.

1.) Tech 49- M83 – Oblivion Soundtrack

Big, Unwieldy, Colossal. These just a few of the things that come to mind when the meat of this track really drops in at around four minutes and thirty seconds. The first time I went to Yosemite National Park, and saw Half Dome and El Cap, something like this song was playing in my mind, it really screams grandeur.

2.) Outro – M83 – Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming

To me, this track is very reminiscent of something that would come from the sound track of BBC’s Planet Earth. That correlation right there is enough to inspire the desire to travel to far off and epic landscapes. Like the other M83 track on this list, this track has a voluminous sound, seemingly engulfing ones entire headspace and evoking the inner yearning for adventure.

3.) Ares – Emancipator – Safe In The Steep Cliffs

The first time I ever heard this track was on this GoPro video, to me it perfectly captured the feeling of exploring underwater and being free.

4.) Waters of Irrawaddy – Hans Zimmer – Beyond Rangoon Soundtrack

The first time I heard this track, I was traveling with a friend, and I had never heard of the film. I recall that it was a dreary rainy day, which to me fit nicely with the down tempo and somewhat sullen nature of the track. It also brought to mind a sort of Asian sound, that made me desire to travel to places such as Thailand and China.
