Outdoor Retailer Under Way

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - Well, we’re here, in Salt Lake City and at the 30th Annual Outdoor Retailer Show.  This of course is the primary reason we are here and here now.  We actually rolled into town Tuesday night and spent the evening, courtesy of the Yakima bike rack company, at the Snowbird Ski

Don’t Bother Reading This Post

EVERGREEN, Colorado – Breakfast with Beckie was followed by a less-than-eventful drive mostly on I-80 across southern Wyoming.  Oh, I guess there were some ink-worthy moments.  We did cross the Continental Divide – twice, along with the Great Divide Basin in between.  Interestingly, the Continental Divide is not one single line running across the spine

Eldorado Canyon

LONGMONT, Colorado – Sleeeeeeeep.  After two marathon days on the road, and alpine starts from Ohio and Missouri, we finally got to sleep in a bit.  Our phone alarms buzzed us awake at 7:00 AM.  Today’s destination - Eldorado Canyon, a must-do for any truly discerning climber. Day 2 Wrap

COLUMBUS, OH – At a little after 5 AM, and on an hour of sleep, it was time to continue west.  First stop was Hoosier Hill, Indiana’s highest point.  Patrick and I parked on a dirt road next to a cornfield, got out and hiked the remaining 50 feet to the summit.  By 10 AM

St Louis Bound!

Today was a bit of a long day. We were up and on the road by 5:45am. After departing Columbus, Ohio we headed to our first stop, the highest point in all of Indiana, Hoosier hill. Situated in a small grove of deciduous trees just off of Elliot road, Hoosier hill is not much of a hike.

Initial Thoughts

It's Day 3 of the trip already and we're almost in Kansas City, Missouri as I post this, but since I just hooked up my mobile hotspot, this is my first chance to share the initial thoughts I wrote back in PA, so here they are: KINGSTON, PA -- If this trip turns out in
