The California coast is one of those special places in America that seem to be slowly slipping away. Coastal communities like Big Sur offer a magic piece of paradise that everyone wants to experience at some point in their life. When I traveled down the Pacific Coastal Highway from Santa Cruz to Ventura last August, I felt like I was in a different world. Winding cliff top roads offering majestic views of the Pacific littered my vision.

Beautiful shot. I live in Portland and feel so lucky to only be an hour from the Oregon coast. I’m planning a road trip down to LA this summer, and I’m hoping to spend a lot of time camping on the coast.
I’m writing on behalf of the KEEN Recess Team, because we’re inspired by people like you who make getting outdoors a priority. Recess is a rallying cry for adults and kids alike to take a break from the daily grind, get outside and create their own playground. We’d love to have your expertise and input on our Recess page:

Thanks for the kind words, I’ll actually be in Portland area next week to climb Mt Hood. I will definitely like to learn more about the Keen Recess Team and will check it out.
