This weekend my friend Phil and I took a ride up to Massachusetts where we climbed the 3,487 foot Mount Greylock which would be my Second US High Point. The weather was a bit damp and chilly, but this made for a more challenging ascent on a relativity short Mountain. it rained a bit here and there, but nothing really significant. the route we used was the Gould trail which offered a moderately steep climb and beautiful scenery. once we got up over 3000 feet the snow began to show on the ground, and upon reaching the summit the visibility severely decreased as the snow and wind picked up. after a short stay on the top we headed back down and called it a day.
after a good meal and a night of sleep we got up and headed south to Connecticut where we climbed Mt Frissell. Mt Frissell is located in North Western Connecticut and rised 2,380 feet above sea level. I really enjoyed this hike, more so than the Higher Mount Greylock. The reason I enjoyed this one more is because the final half mile of before the top involved some technical scrambling up boulders and rock faces, making the trip more rewarding and challenging, also you can beat the view on top considering the low elevation of this high point.
EDIT: after reviewing the TOPO’s it appears that we hit the top of Bear Mountain. while Bear Mountain is the highest summit in Connecticut, it is not as quite as high as the SW Shoulder of Frissell. Looks Like Ill be headed back to Connecticut soon.

And finally to cap out the weekend we drove up to High Point State Park in New Jersey for an easy final high point of the weekend. The weather was starting to clear out so we had some pretty spectacular views of the surrounding areas but the winds were a bit high.
