Joshua Tree National Park is a seemingly boundless playground for rock climbers and adventurers of all types. Every year (except this year unfortunately) I meet up with a tight knit group of climbers that descend upon Joshua Tree National Park, specifically in Ryan Campground for what has been coined #JtreeTweetup. This little gathering started a few years ago through the power of Twitter, and an eager group of climbers who wanted to make more of their online camaraderie. I was fortunate enough to fall into this group the second year in and have been making it out every November that I can. This shot was taken last year from outside Ryan Campground. A climber can be seen making his way up a route called The Northwest Corner of Headstone Rock. This is a fun little sports climb that challenges ones aversion to exposure more than climbing skill.
