Simple design, looks very useful, the design still allows for the same amount of safety as a regular carabiner, if not more since quicker clipping means less time for a fall. However, it’s taking a lot of the challenge out of it. I don’t think it’s something that should be used at all times, but would definitely be useful to have in a situation where seconds count.
I also wouldn’t want to see a new climber skipping right past traditional carabiners and getting too used to only using the Trigger Wire.
I was looking into these, and had one problem with them, I was worried about racking them and then having issues with them closing while I was climbing, thankfully MadRock made a video to show that its really quite tricky to close them except if you hit the trigger.
