For those of you who have not been, New York state is really a lot more than just New York City. Actually, one such area of beauty isn’t all that far from the big city. The Catskills is a mountain range in south eastern New York that has a lot of pretty wild spaces. In October, Emalee and I took a few days and hike a portion of Devil’s Path, which is said to be one of the most challenging hikes in the northeast. It is twenty six miles of grueling Hell, but we enjoyed the section we did. When we topped out on one of the mountains, we took a break to take in the view and eat some few. This is what we saw. Enjoy!

Behind The Scenes

Camera: Canon EOS M
Lens: 22mm
Focal Length: 22mm
ISO:
800
Aperture: f/8
Shutter Speed: 1/3200th
The Tools: 15 Inch Macbook Pro
Location: Devil’s Path, Sugar Loaf Mountain – Catskill Mountain, NY
Other Good Stuff: Lightroom 5,  Nik Color Efex Pro 4

Workflow: I started this edit as I typically do by making adjustments in Lightroom, then brought it into Color Efex Pro 4 to really bring out the Autumn colors. To achieve this, I stacked the foliage filter on a user defined graduated filter. This allowed me to bring out the fall colors while maintaining the blue of the sky.
