If you know me at all, one thing your probably hear me whine about frequently is my cold sweaty feet, especially in the colder months. My body seems to defy the laws of nature in that my feet do not sweat when they are hot in the summer, but sure enough when I need them to stay dry and warm in the winter they sweat away. I have tried Thin socks, I have tried thick socks and few have negated the problem though I seem to have the best luck with wool.

Recently I was given a pair of Under Armour’s Coldgear Hitch Lite Cushion socks to try out. Though these socks are marketed with the hunter in mind I decided to give them a go any way. They are a Mid height boot sock made of a blend of wool, polyester, acrylic, nylon and spandex with just enough cushion to provide a comfortable fit without being overbearing.

Under Armour Wool Socks

after 2 days of use these socks have provided me with a decent amount of relief from moisture thanks to the wicking properties of the material. Maybe it was just the pair I got but I did notice the stitching coming slightly undone on one of the socks above the heal, but it was only minor and has not seemed to progress.

If you are looking for a warm pair of socks for your outdoor adventures this winter, these might be a pair to take into consideration. They kept my unwieldy feet relatively at bay, and my feet were not cold for a second. from what I can tell, they seem every bit as good as the Smart Wool equivalent.
