As I write this, I am sitting in a coffee shop in Seattle Washington. After 2 weeks, I have made it as far west as I will get on this trip. The past few weeks have been a whirlwind of adventure across the country. Last week I attended my first Outdoor Retailer expo in Salt Lake City and had a blast. The amount of great outdoor industry connections I made was fantastic, and I got to check out a lot of great new gear. Shortly after OR, we headed up to Jackson Hole, Wy to make an attempt at the 13,770 foot Grand Teton. Ultimately our summit attempt was twarted by fatigue and crowding, but we did make it to 13,000 feet, and that’s nothing to be ashamed of.

Kayaking in Puget Sound

On Wednesday, after an afternoon of ooh’s and ah’s at Yellowstone’s Old Faithful, I split off with my Companions and headed northwest into Montana where I spent the night in my lovely tent at Lewis and Clark Caverns State Park.  The next morning it was GO TIME! I made the 10+ hour drive to Whidbey island where I spent the past few days with mi amigo Peter West Carey. We did some Kayaking, shot some photos and even ate some pancakes with real maple syrup! Sorry Bill, it wasn’t Urbanski Farms brand, but it was still damn good.

Now I am sitting in a coffee shop north of Seattle. I need to find something cool to do. Got any suggestions? leave them in the comments!
