Waiting In The Crater

Two years ago, I took on the challenge of Mount Rainier, the most glaciated mountain in the lower 48 states. I always wanted to climb that mountain, and my dream was about to be realized. Since not everyone is fortunate enough to achieve their dreams, I decided that I would climb this for charity, thus

Right of Passage

It has been nearly two years since I climbed to the summit of Mount Rainier in Washington, but I think about it all the time. It was one of the proudest moments of my life and through that experience I met a lot of great people, all with different reasons for being there. In this

Reaching The Summit

I know i've shared this photo before, but after a little tweaking and more thinking about it, I had to share it again. It was late August, but you wouldn't know that by looking at menagerie of snow and ice that surrounded me. The temperature was in the high twenties, and the winds, light and

Sunrise At Columbia Crest

Daily Photo - Sunrise At Columbia Crest After hours and hours of marching up the glaciated slopes of Mount Rainier, we had arrived at the crater rim. Rainier The Chanllenger

I stepped off the paved trail, my boot plunged into the sun ripened snow of the Muir Snowfield. Standing majestically, miles above me the glaciated slopes of Mount Rainier called to me. After months of training, fundraising, and traveling to smaller mountains to test my mettle, I had arrived, It all came down to this

Purple Magic Skyline

Daily Photo: Purple Magic Skyline Seattle is one of those places I dreamed of for many years, but for one reason or another, I just couldn't get out there. That was, until last year. I had signed up to do a Summit For Someone climb of Mount Rainier. Rainier was the driving force behind my

Glacial Playground: A Photographic Climb Of Mount Rainier

To me, one of the most fascinating mountains in the world is Rainier. Stretching 14,410 above the Pacific, Rainier is a icon of the Pacific Northwest. It's volcanic legacy provides proof that our world is continually changing. It is a life goal for some, and a training ground for others. I craved Rainier for many years, and subsequently attained it's coveted Columbia Crest in August of this year. I have provided a few of my favorite shots from this beauty of a mountain. Enjoy!
