Well folks, after over 3000 miles and nearly four days in the car, we have made it to the pacific northwest. Last night we made an unplanned stop in Seattle due to some nasty weather down in Smith Rocks that would have made for a soggy night of camping. So we did what any intelligent road tripping human beings would do… We looked for a couch to crash on. With the word sent out to the Twitterverse, we waited and drove some more hoping that one of our Seattle friends was interested in getting together, and letting us bum some floor space. Fortunately for us, our friend Laurel was around. Not only did she offer us a place to stay, but she also made the suggestion that we climb in Vantage at The Feathers, which turned out being a blast, so thanks for that!

Prior to arriving in the Pacific Northwest, we were hitting the road extremely hard. We departed from Columbus Ohio on Friday morning, and have been traveling almost non-stop across the states since then. We did mix in a few state capitol photo ops and some short lived parking lot naps for good measure, but for the most part it was grueling miles.

With the first leg of our cross country trip behind us, we now have to prepare for two big mountains. Provided the weather is on our side, We will be standing on the summit of Mount Hood this weekend, and Mount Shasta a few days later. Check back here daily for more photos and video from the road.
