I had never been to Lake Tahoe, and was mesmerized by the beauty of this lake, second only to the magnificent Crater Lake, several hundred miles to the north in Oregon. After a nice stop off at a lake side bar for some beers and a break from the open road, we moved on. On our way to Carson City, we stopped off at one last lake side view point to take in Tahoe one last time. The sun wasn’t quite where I needed it for the landscape shots I love so much, but as Bill climbed onto an outcropping of rocks, I noticed an opportunity for some silhouette photography. Bill spread his arms as if he had just achieved nirvana. I took the shot and was happy with what I achieved. I think it represents this stint on the road quite well. After a few more shots, we piled back into Bill’s Toyota Rav4 and headed onward to Carson City and the Nevada desert.
