Lone Tree In A Field Of Boulders

I hopped from boulder to boulder looking for the angle that showcased the grandeur of this field of boulders and the loneliness of this single tree growing from the field. I crouched down and lined up the tree where I wanted it and fired off some frames. I sat back and took in this beautiful

Just A Man And His Mountain

We neared the Red Banks at around 12,000 feet on Mount Shasta. We were blowing out calories faster than we could pack them in, but we pressed on. The weather was bluebird, at the temperature just about perfect. We couldn't have asked for a better day to summit one of California's most magnificent volcanoes. Truly

Reaching The Summit

I know i've shared this photo before, but after a little tweaking and more thinking about it, I had to share it again. It was late August, but you wouldn't know that by looking at menagerie of snow and ice that surrounded me. The temperature was in the high twenties, and the winds, light and

We Made It!

I had never been to Lake Tahoe, and was mesmerized by the beauty of this lake, second only to the magnificent Crater Lake, several hundred miles to the north in Oregon. After a nice stop off at a lake side bar for some beers and a break from the open road, we moved on. On

Death On The High Plains

It was late afternoon when we pulled down the long dusty road to Mount Sunflower. It was dry out, I mean really dry. Tumble weed drifted in the wind, and our car kicked up so much dust that you could not see more than ten feet behind us. After nearly 20 miles of driving off

A Unscheduled Stop In Seattle

Well folks, after over 3000 miles and nearly four days in the car, we have made it to the pacific northwest. Last night we made an unplanned stop in Seattle due to some nasty weather down in Smith Rocks that would have made for a soggy night of camping. So we did what any intelligent

Tremble In Fear

One of the first stops on my cross country trek to Oregon was Columbus, Ohio. While strolling down the streets of Columbus, On my way to photograph the state capitol building, I noticed the statue of William Mckinley in front of the building. I crouched down to notice this menacing perspective of the statue under
